The Kokonozi Mosque in Tirana, Albania, formally known as the Mosque of Mahmud Agha Kokonozi, is an Ottoman-era structure built in 1750. Also called the New Bazaar Mosque, it represents one of the few mosques to survive Albania's Communist dictatorship under the Hoxhaist regime. Closed in 1966 and repurposed as a food storehouse and later a tobacco store, the mosque was reopened on 18 February 1991, marking its restoration to religious use after decades of state suppression.
