The Sulejman Pasha Mosque, also known as the Old Mosque, was Tirana's first mosque, completed in 1614 as an Ottoman architectural landmark in Tirana County, Albania. Founded by Pasha Sulejman Bargjini alongside a hammam and bakery, it stood for over three centuries before suffering partial destruction in November 1944 during World War II. The structure was razed entirely in 1945 under the Communist rule of Enver Hoxha. The mosque and its surrounding streets were demolished to clear space for the Statue of the Unknown Soldier, completed in 1949. Unlike other religious buildings in Tirana undergoing restoration, no plans exist for reconstructing the city's founding mosque.
