Kuwait City, Kuwait

Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
Located in Kuwait City, this building housed the National Assembly of Kuwait and stands as a work of Islamic architecture designed by renowned Danish architect Jørn Utzon, who conceived the project in 1972. Completed in a decade later in 1982 under the direction of Utzon's son Jan, with structural engineering by Max Walt, the building represents a significant civic structure. The building endured severe damage in February 1991 when retreating Iraqi troops set it ablaze during the Gulf War, but has since undergone restoration.
