Located in Nishi-ku, Osaka, the Kyocera Dome Osaka is a baseball stadium designed by Nikken Sekkei and opened in 1997. Originally built as the home field of the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes, the dome became a shared venue following the 2005 merger that created the Orix Buffaloes. The Hanshin Tigers also use the stadium for season openers and August home games when their own facility, Koshien Stadium, hosts high school baseball tournaments. Beyond baseball, the dome has hosted major mixed martial arts events, including Pride Total Elimination 2005 and Pride Total Elimination Absolute.
