Built in 1910 in Laurens, Iowa, the Laurens Carnegie Free Library is a Mission Revival structure designed by the Des Moines firm Wetherell and Gage. Measuring 42 by 22.5 feet, the building features a projecting pavilion marking its main entrance. It was constructed with support from a $3,800 Carnegie Corporation grant awarded in 1907 to the town's literary association. A rear addition was added in 1955, and the building now serves as the Pocahontas County Historical Museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
