Designed by celebrated cinema architect Thomas W. Lamb and completed in 1936, the Lincoln Theatre stands on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach's South Beach neighborhood as an Art Deco masterpiece. Originally functioning as a movie palace, it operated as a cinema until the 1980s. The New World Symphony purchased the vacant building in 1990 and undertook a multimillion-dollar renovation, using it as a concert venue before relocating to Frank Gehry's New World Center in 2011. The building was subsequently converted to retail use, with H&M as its first tenant, and was recognized by the American Institute of Architects' Florida Chapter in 2012 as a significant example of the state's architectural heritage.
