Designed by John Eberson and opened in 1926, the Olympia Theater in Miami exemplifies the atmospheric style for which its architect became renowned. Built in Mediterranean Revival architecture, the theater has functioned variously as a movie palace, concert venue, and performing arts center throughout its history. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, it remains one of only four surviving atmospheric theaters in Florida, alongside the Florida Theatre, the Polk Theatre, and the Tampa Theatre.
