The Tampa Theatre is a historic movie palace in downtown Tampa, Florida, designed by architect John Eberson and opened on October 15, 1926. Built in the Mediterranean Revival style as an atmospheric theatre, it stands as Tampa's only non-profit movie palace, supported by members, donors, and corporate sponsors alongside ticket sales. Beyond screening independent, foreign, and documentary films, the venue hosts over 700 annual events including live concerts, classic and first-run films, and educational programs, functioning as a vital cultural institution and city landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
