LUMA Arles is a contemporary arts center in Arles, France, established by the LUMA Foundation under Swiss patron Maja Hoffmann. The complex repurposes former railroad factories and is anchored by the LUMA Tower, a 15,000-square-meter structure designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry, with landscape architecture by Bureau Bas Smets. Gehry drew inspiration from Vincent van Gogh's presence in Arles, particularly the luminous qualities of *Starry Night* (1889), a vision realized through the tower's distinctive envelope of 11,000 angled reflective stainless steel panels that capture and refract southern light. The center houses exhibition spaces, workshops, a library, an auditorium seating 150, and a café, creating a multifaceted cultural venue that opened in 2013.
