The Lyric Theatre, a historic movie house erected in 1926 in downtown Stuart, Florida, exemplifies the Beaux Arts style blended with Mission and Spanish Revival elements. Located at the intersection of Southwest Flagler and Southwest Osceola Streets, the building gained cultural prominence when Katharine Hepburn performed during an annual Kiwanis Minstrel show there in 1941. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, the theatre has since been repurposed as a stage and music venue that occasionally hosts church services. West-side additions were constructed to provide backstage facilities for these evolving uses, with the new structures also fronting both adjoining streets.
