Located at 163 N. Vernal Avenue in Vernal, Utah, the Manfred and Ethel Martin House is a vernacular Shingle Style residence built in 1912 by Dr. Manfred Martin, an early physician who arrived during a period of growth and prosperity in the community. The house incorporated an attached doctor's office where Martin treated patients by horse and buggy, making it a significant early health care facility in Vernal's history. Architecturally, it stands as the only known example of Shingle Style architecture in Vernal and remains uncommon throughout Utah, particularly in isolated communities. Despite minor alterations over time, the house has retained its historic and architectural integrity. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
