Marlbrook, a Late Georgian brick farmhouse located near Glasgow in Rockbridge County, Virginia, originated around 1766 as a two-story, five-bay structure. The home gained its alternate name, Cherry Hill, and expanded with a 1½-story brick east wing added in 1804 and a balancing frame west wing constructed in the 1990s. The property encompasses several contributing structures including a log spring house, an 1870s cistern, barn, and mid-twentieth-century tenant house and garage workshop. Designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, Marlbrook exemplifies the evolution of a rural Virginia estate across more than two centuries.
