Mashhad Railway Station, located in Mashhad, the second largest city in Iran, exemplifies Pahlavi-era architecture and is designated as an Iranian National Heritage site. Designed by Heydar Ghiai in collaboration with architects Mohsen Foroughi, Abdol Aziz Farmanfarmaian, and French architect Fernand Pouillon, the station reflects the modernist aspirations of mid-twentieth-century Iranian railway infrastructure. Owned by IRI Railways, the surface-level station was renamed Mashhad Shahid Raeisi in 2024 following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.
