The May Company Building, located at the northeast corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles's Miracle Mile district, is a celebrated Streamline Moderne structure completed in 1939 by architects Albert C. Martin, Sr., and Samuel Abraham Marx. Rising 65.84 meters, the building is especially distinguished by its gold-tiled cylindrical section facing the boulevard intersection, which the Los Angeles Conservancy has called "the grandest example of Streamline Moderne remaining in Los Angeles." Originally operated as a May Company department store from 1939 to 1992, the building now houses the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, which opened there in 2021. It holds the status of a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument.
