The Mosque of Haji Gaib stands in the Old City of Baku as a fine example of the Shirvan-Absheron architectural school, a regional Islamic tradition rooted in Azerbaijan's historical building practices. Constructed in 1898, the mosque reflects the ornamental and structural conventions of its place and period, representing the late 19th-century flowering of Islamic architecture in the Caucasus. Now recognized as a cultural heritage monument in Azerbaijan, it remains a significant marker of Baku's rich religious and architectural heritage.
