The Khidir Mosque, located on Muslim Magomayev Street in Baku's Old City, stands as a fourteenth-century structure commissioned by the Iranian Shirvanshahs. Built according to the Shirvan-Absheron architectural school—a distinctive regional tradition of Islamic architecture—the mosque reflects the ornamental and structural conventions of medieval Azerbaijan. Though now a former place of worship, the building retains its status as a protected cultural heritage monument, officially registered as a national architectural monument by Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers in 2001.
