Located on Kichik Gala street in Baku's Old City, the Hajji Heybat mosque was built in 1791 by architect Hajji Heybat Amir Ali oghlu. The structure exemplifies the Shirvan-Absheron architectural school, a regional Islamic tradition characteristic of medieval Azerbaijan. Now a cultural heritage monument, the former mosque represents an important example of late 18th-century religious architecture in the region.
