Built in 1927–1929 on Krivoarbatsky Lane in Moscow's Arbat District, the Melnikov House is a landmark of Soviet avant-garde architecture designed by Konstantin Melnikov as his own residence and workshop. Completed when the architect was under 40, this single-family mansion represents the pinnacle of Melnikov's career, distinguished by its innovative design, original artistic vision, and carefully considered functional layout—making it a rare and significant example of residential construction during the Soviet era. The house would prove to be Melnikov's final building. Now a federal cultural heritage site, it has been managed by the Shchusev Museum of Architecture since 2011 as part of the Melnikov Museum, established in 2014.
