The Metro Theatre was an Art Deco movie house at 677 Bloor Street in Toronto, designed by architects Kaplan and Sprachman and built in 1938. Opening in 1939 as a neighbourhood theatre showing second-run films and B movies, it operated for nearly seventy-five years before closing in 2013. Originally styled for the 1940s, the theatre featured two screening rooms with capacities of 286 and 320 seats, along with a snack bar. Beginning in 1976, it transitioned to adult films and later, during the 1990s, served as a venue for kung-fu screenings and counter-culture performances. The theatre appeared in the 2008 film *The Lollipop Generation* by G. B. Jones and briefly in the music video for C-Block's "So Strung Out." Following its closure, the building was converted into commercial spaces, including an indoor rock climbing gym occupying the former theatre area.
