Midway Gardens was a 360,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor entertainment complex that opened in 1914 in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright as a European-style concert garden for year-round dining, drinking, and performances. Wright collaborated with sculptors Richard Bock and Alfonso Iannelli on the distinctive "sprite" sculptures that decorated the facility. Despite hosting popular performers and entertainers, Midway Gardens struggled financially and was demolished in October 1929.
