Perched atop a rocky precipice over 400 metres high in the Pineios Valley northeast of Kalambaka, the Monastery of the Holy Trinity is a Greek Orthodox monastery in central Greece and one of the oldest surviving structures at Meteora. Built beginning in 1401 in Byzantine architectural style, it features a church constructed between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Part of the original 24 monasteries established at Meteora, the site is now protected as both an archaeological site and a protected building in Greece, and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 as one of six extant monasteries at Meteora.
