The Montreal Masonic Memorial Temple, located on the corner of Sherbrooke and St. Marc Streets in Montreal's Golden Square Mile, is a Beaux-Arts masterpiece designed by architect John Smith Archibald and completed in 1929. Dedicated and officially opened on June 12, 1930, the temple was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2001 in recognition of its status as one of Canada's most elegant Beaux-Arts buildings. The structure stands as a classified heritage immovable and exemplifies the refined architectural principles of the Beaux-Arts tradition applied to Masonic institutional design.
