Mother Ukraine is a colossal steel statue in Kyiv designed in the socialist realist style and standing 40 meters high. Part of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, the monument depicts the titular figure as a symbol of the Ukrainian nation. Originally bearing Soviet heraldry on its shield, the statue underwent a significant alteration in 2023 when that imagery was removed and replaced with Ukraine's tryzub coat of arms—a change made in response to the Russo-Ukrainian War.
