The Mukai Cold Process Fruit Barrelling Plant in Vashon, Washington, is a Colonial Revival factory originally constructed and operated by the Japanese American Mukai family. Spanning 4.8 acres, the site represents a rare, largely intact example of Japanese American agricultural enterprise in the Pacific Northwest. In 1993, it became the first location associated with Japanese American history to receive designation as a King County landmark, and was subsequently listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The plant's preservation documents an important chapter in the region's immigrant settlement and agricultural history.
