Located in Liberty, Sullivan County, New York, the Munson Diner is a 1945 streamliner manufactured by the Kullman Dining Car Company of Lebanon, New Jersey. The structure exemplifies Moderne architecture with its distinctive riveted steel frame and gleaming exterior of stainless steel and porcelain enamel. Measuring sixteen feet wide by fifty feet long, the diner features a rectangular form and an interior layout characteristic of diners from the 1940s and 1950s. Originally positioned at West 49th Street and 11th Avenue in New York City, it was relocated to its present Liberty site in 2005 through efforts initiated by activist Allan Bérubé. The diner was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
