The New Hampshire Bank Building stands at 22–26 Market Square in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, as one of the nation's oldest purpose-built bank structures. Constructed in 1803, it held the distinction of being the oldest continuously occupied banking building in the country until 1977. Though substantially altered over its two centuries, the structure reflects Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical architectural traditions. Its historical significance was formally recognized when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
