Newhall is a 17th-century country estate near Ennis in County Clare, Ireland, originally built by members of the Irish landed gentry and now listed in the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage. A Georgian front section, designed by Francis Bindon, was added to the original structure, creating a T-shaped composition with an elongated rear wing that served partly as servants' quarters. The expansive demesne encompasses woodlands, parklands, lakes, gate lodges, and a holy well, along with the medieval Killone Abbey—founded in 1190 by Donald Mor O'Brien, King of Thomond, for Augustinian nuns and now a protected national monument. The estate is also associated with local folklore featuring a mermaid legend.
