North Wales is a historic plantation and national historic district spanning nearly 1,288 acres in Fauquier County, Virginia, near Warrenton. Established by merchant William Allason of Falmouth between 1776 and 1796, the estate centers on a Georgian-style stone manor house that Allason built for himself and his wife Anne Hooe. The property remained a working plantation through six generations of their descendants. The current historic district comprises 38 contributing buildings alongside eight contributing sites and structures, featuring Georgian and Colonial Revival architecture designed by firms including Little & Browne. Designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, North Wales represents a significant example of late 18th-century plantation development in Virginia's Piedmont region.
