Virginia House is a Tudor Revival manor house perched on a hillside overlooking the James River in Richmond's Windsor Farms neighborhood, designed by Henry Grant Morse and completed in 1925. Constructed from salvaged materials of the 16th-century Priory House in Warwick, Warwickshire, England, the house was shipped across the Atlantic and reassembled just months before the 1929 stock market crash. Built by Alexander and Virginia Weddell, it blends Tudor styling with design elements from other English manor houses while featuring modern conveniences including ten bathrooms and central heating. The interiors were furnished with English and Spanish antiques, oriental carpets, silks, and silver. Now operated as a house museum by the Virginia Historical Society, Virginia House largely preserves its appearance from the 1940s during the Weddells' occupancy and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Virginia Historic Landmark.
