Wheatland Manor, a historic residence near Fincastle in Botetourt County, Virginia, exemplifies the architectural transitions of early nineteenth-century Virginia. Built circa 1820, the main house is a two-story brick I-house with five bays and a center passage plan, finished with refined Federal-style interior details. A Greek Revival-style porch with two levels was added in the 1850s, along with a two-story brick ell and an adjoining one-story frame kitchen wing. The property retains additional historic fabric, including a contributing retaining wall, terraced garden site, ice house ruins, and foundations. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, the manor reflects the evolving tastes of Virginia's gentry during the antebellum period.
