Winterham is a historic plantation house near Amelia Court House in Amelia County, Virginia, built around 1855 in the Italian villa style. The two-story frame structure features a hipped roof, four original porches, and a cross-hall plan characteristic of Renaissance Revival architecture. It represents the only known Virginia work by Thomas Tabb Giles, an amateur architect and son of Governor William Branch Giles, in collaboration with professional architect William Percival. Original architectural drawings for the house are preserved at the Virginia Historical Society. Contributing outbuildings include a late nineteenth-century farm dependency and an early twentieth-century garage. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, Winterham is now privately owned and operates as a bed and breakfast and event venue.
