Located in the historic city of Dumat al-Jandal in Al-Jowf Province, Saudi Arabia, the Mosque of Umar ibn al-Khattab is a Sunni Islamic structure traditionally attributed to the Rashidun caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, though this attribution remains contested. Situated within the old city's Al-Darʿi quarter adjacent to Marid Castle, the mosque is distinguished by its minaret—positioned at the south-west corner of the prayer hall and constructed in tapering tiers—which is considered the earliest surviving minaret of its type in northern Arabia and marks a significant development in Islamic architectural history.
