Located in the Royal Garden of Prague Castle in Hradčany, the New Orangery is a modern greenhouse completed between 1999 and 2001. Designed by Czech architect Eva Jiřičná in high-tech style, the structure replaced a former Renaissance orangery on the same site. Measuring 100 meters in length, it stands near the Ball Game Hall, overlooking the Deer Moat. Built under the patronage of Olga Havlová, wife of former Czech president Václav Havel, the greenhouse serves the practical purpose of cultivating tropical flowers and plants for use throughout Prague Castle.
