Prague Castle, situated in Hradčany, Czech Republic, is a vast castle complex built in the 9th century that has served as the seat of power for Bohemian kings, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. According to the Guinness Book of Records, it is the largest ancient castle in the world, spanning nearly 70,000 square metres and measuring approximately 570 metres in length. The castle's architecture encompasses multiple styles—Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque—reflecting contributions from architects including Matthias of Arras, Benedikt Rejt, and Jože Plečnik across its long construction history. Today it serves as the official residence and workplace of the Czech president and houses the Bohemian Crown Jewels in a hidden chamber. As the most visited tourist attraction in the Czech Republic, it attracts nearly 2.6 million visitors annually and is designated as both a national cultural monument and part of the nation's cultural heritage.
