Located at 42 Abbotsford Road in Winnetka, Illinois, the Orth House is a 1908 Prairie School residence designed by Walter Burley Griffin, a former employee of Frank Lloyd Wright who established his own studio shortly after an unpaid loan to Wright. The 1½-story house exemplifies the Prairie School style through its stucco exterior with decorative stained wood, casement windows arranged in geometric patterns, and characteristic horizontal emphasis. Griffin's design captures the movement's integration of organic form and geometric ornamentation. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
