The Paço de Sub-Ripas is a Manueline palace and tower located in Coimbra, Portugal, within the historic parishes of Sé Nova, Santa Cruz, Almedina, and São Bartolomeu. Designated a National Monument of Portugal, this structure represents the elaborate architectural vocabulary of the Manueline style, the distinctive Portuguese Gothic tradition that flourished during the reign of Manuel I in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The building's tower and palatial form reflect the wealth and status of its original occupants, combining defensive and residential functions characteristic of urban noble residences of its period.
