The Palace of Justice in Vienna's Innere Stadt district is a Neo-Renaissance courthouse designed by Alexander Wielemans and constructed between 1875 and 1881. Positioned on Schmerlingplatz near the prestigious Ringstraße boulevard, the building serves as the seat of Austria's Supreme Court (Oberster Gerichtshof) and also houses the Higher Regional Court of Vienna, the Regional Court for Civil Matters Vienna, the General Prosecution, and the Supreme Public Prosecutor for Vienna. A listed heritage object in Austria, the Palace of Justice exemplifies the architectural ambitions of late nineteenth-century Vienna.
