The Pampulha Art Museum in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, was designed by Oscar Niemeyer and completed in 1957 as part of the Pampulha Modern Ensemble. Originally built as the Cassino da Pampulha at the request of then-mayor Juscelino Kubitschek, the building exemplifies Niemeyer's modernist approach and has been recognized as a cultural heritage site by multiple Brazilian authorities—the Municipal Government of Belo Horizonte, the State of Minas Gerais through IEPHA, and the federal IPHAN. In 2016, the museum was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside the broader Pampulha ensemble, cementing its significance in Brazilian architectural and cultural history.
