The Pavillon de la Muette is a hunting lodge designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel and built between 1766 and 1775 for King Louis XV in the Forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a western suburb of Paris. Now classified as a historical monument, the pavilion exemplifies the refined architectural taste of mid-eighteenth-century royal France, created during the reign of one of the era's most significant patrons of architecture.
