The Peace Hotel is a landmark complex on Shanghai's Bund comprising two Art Deco structures with distinct histories. The north building, completed in 1929 as Sassoon House, originally housed the Cathay Hotel and now operates as the Fairmont Peace Hotel under Canadian management. Across Nanjing Road, the south building—constructed in 1908 as the Palace Hotel—has been converted into The Swatch Art Peace Hotel, serving as residences and studios for artists.
