Located in the North Poblacion of Medina in eastern Misamis Oriental, roughly three hours from Cagayan de Oro, the Pelaez Ancestral House is a Beaux-Arts residence built in 1920. The house, whose white-washed walls have earned it the local nickname "Pelaez White House," stands as a historical landmark connected to two prominent Philippine political figures: Don Gregorio A. Pelaez, Sr., the first governor of Misamis Oriental, and his son Emmanuel N. Pelaez, Sr., who served as Vice President of the Philippines under the Diosdado Macapagal Administration beginning in 1961. The structure remains a witness to the political and social history of both the locality and the nation.
