The Petit Palais, a Beaux-Arts art museum in Paris's 8th arrondissement, was built for the 1900 Exposition Universelle and completed in 1902. Designed by architect Charles Girault with structural engineer François Hennebique, the building occupies a prominent site across from the Grand Palais on Avenue Winston-Churchill, with facades overlooking the Seine and the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Today it houses the City of Paris Museum of Fine Arts (Musée des beaux-arts de la ville de Paris) and has been a listed monument historique since 1975. As one of fourteen Paris municipal museums, it has operated under the Paris Musées public corporation since 2013.
