Poplar Grove Plantation is a historic sugar plantation site in Port Allen, West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, that originated in the 1820s under James McCalop, who enslaved African Americans to work the land. The manor house, built in 1884, exemplifies an eclectic architectural vision, blending Queen Anne Revival, Eastlake Movement, Italianate, and Chinese design elements. The plantation complex includes a cemetery and once operated as the Popular Grove Plant and Refining Company. The Wilkinson family acquired the property in 1903 and maintained ownership for generations thereafter. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, recognized for its architectural significance.
