Port Lympne, an early twentieth-century country house at Lympne in Kent, was designed by Herbert Baker and Philip Tilden for the wealthy industrialist Sir Philip Sassoon, 3rd Baronet, and completed after the First World War. Following Sassoon's death in 1939, the house passed to his cousin Hannah Gubbay along with its notable contents of cars and planes. Abandoned after the Second World War, it was acquired in 1973 by John Aspinall as part of the expansion of his Port Lympne Zoo. The Grade II* listed building survives as a reminder of early modern country-house design and Edwardian patronage.
