The Apotheosis Square (Praça da Apoteose), designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1983, is a major event venue in Rio de Janeiro situated near the Morro da Mineira favela and integrated into the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí complex. The space can accommodate up to 90,000 people for large gatherings and 10,000 to 40,000 for concerts. The venue has hosted notable performances, including A-ha's two concerts in 1989, each drawing 80,000 attendees, and the Christian band Diante do Trono's recording of their tenth album in 2007, which attracted over 100,000 people.
