The Praetorian Building is a seven-story structure completed in 1915 in downtown Waco, Texas, designed by the Dallas firm C. W. Bulger & Co. in the Chicago School or Modern style. Built by Hughes O'Rourke Construction to serve as the headquarters of the Praetorian Insurance Company, it reflects the architectural lineage of the parent company's flagship Dallas office, designed by C. E. Bulger a decade earlier. Over its century of use, the building has operated under several names—Franklin Tower, Service Mutual Building, Southwestern Building, and Williams Tower—before returning to mixed-use purposes housing apartments, retail, and offices. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
