Prairie du Chien City Hall, built in 1894 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, is a brick Italianate structure erected on the grounds of the city's former opera house, which had burned down the previous year. Beyond serving as the seat of municipal government, the building functioned as a civic auditorium, housed Prairie du Chien's first public library, and contained facilities for the city jail, police department, and fire department. From 1929 through the 1950s, the American Legion also used the building for meetings and events. The city government relocated to a new city hall in 2002–03, and the historic building was added to the National Register of Historic Places that same year.
