The Price Tower is a nineteen-story, 221-foot-high skyscraper designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1956 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. One of the few high-rises Wright designed, it evolved from his 1929 proposal for apartment buildings in New York City and was commissioned by Harold C. Price Sr., head of the H. C. Price Company pipeline-construction firm. The building's distinctive structure features a pinwheel-shaped reinforced-concrete core with four piers and cantilevered floors arranged on a parallelogram grid with 30–60–90 triangles. Its facade showcases embossed copper spandrels and louvers, tinted glass windows, and poured stucco surfaces. Containing approximately 42,000 square feet split between residential and office quadrants, the tower attracted thousands of sightseers upon opening on February 10, 1956. It received the American Institute of Architects' Twenty-five Year Award in 1983 and has been designated both a National Historic Landmark and a Tentative World Heritage Site.
