The Princess Sweet Shop in Iowa Falls, Iowa, is a striking Art Deco structure completed in 1935 by local architect L.L. Klippel following the original building's destruction by fire on Christmas Day 1934. The shop represents a notable rarity for rural Iowa: its Carrara Glass façade and streamlined woodwork exemplify Art Deco design conventions of the 1920s–30s with exceptional refinement. The building was established by Greek immigrants Ernie Karrys and Nicholas P. Pergakis, who merged their separate candy operations at the Princess location in 1928. When completed, it became Iowa Falls's first air-conditioned building. Listed individually on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, it was further designated as a contributing property to the Washington Avenue Commercial Historic District in 2012.
