Public School 39, also known as The Henry Bristow School, is a three-story brick and stone building constructed in 1876–1877 in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. The structure combines Italianate and Second Empire architectural styles, featuring a symmetrical facade with a prominent central bay or tower topped by steep slate-covered mansard roofs. The first floor displays rusticated stonework, characteristic of the period's ornamental approach to institutional design. Designated a New York City Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, the school remains part of the New York City Department of Education.
